08 Ott 5 Inspirations To Write Your Wedding Vows
The exchange of wedding vows
It is the central moment of every wedding ceremony, the most awaited and dreamed of: the exchange of vows and rings between the bride and the groom. It is the moment of the greatest emotion, when tears and laughters are often mixed in joy, the words you will be about to say one another are of the utmost importance!
If yours is either a religious or civil ceremony, this moment will be very solemn and characterised by ritual formulas, whose words are sometimes ancient, perhaps a bit old-fashioned, but surely renovated and enriched by the deep love that the spouses show while they pronounce them, revealing the true meaning hidden behind those standard sentences.
If you have opted for a symbolic ceremony, instead, you are free to express your mutual intentions of eternal love, by using the words you prefer, even in the most unconventional ways.
But sometimes all this freedom of expressing themselves can be a bit frightening, can’t it? It is not easy to put down in words all the feelings, the emotions, the expectations hidden in our heart, and a hundred doubts arise in front of the blank page: will I sound too pompous? Is my text too short? Should I say more? Should I use different terms?
That’s why we want to give you some useful (we hope) suggestions, to help you write your beautiful, personal vows.
Some advice and inspirational tips to write your own wedding vows
1. Think about what your future spouse represents for you and for your life. Think about your story, the episodes of the past you shared, those things that made you realize you’d found THE ONE.
2. Think about what you want to do together, your big plans for the future, but also the little, daily things you will share and that will fill your life together.
3. Don’t forget that marriage means mutual sharing and support, being there one for the other, being always best friends.
4. Remember that marriage is not all a bed of roses, it might include hard times, too, that will put you to the test: you will need to have this clear in mind from the beginning and be strong together.
5. Don’t be afraid of “borrowing” your vows from poems, novels, songs or films! Especially if it is a very meaningful one for the both of you: it will not be lacking in personalization, because it will have a special meaning that only you know.
